NEWCASTLE United’s Jonas Gutierrez could make his comeback from injury against Sunderland.
Gutierrez, on a half-season loan at Norwich City from United, has been sidelined since early last month with a calf problem.
But the 30-year-old winger played 45 mintues of a behind-closed-doors game for Norwich’s Under-21s this afternoon, and could be in Chris Hughton’s squad for Saturday’s Premier League six-pointer against Sunderland at Carrow Road.
Defender Michael Turner – who joined Norwich from Sunderland in the summer of 2012 – also played in the game.
Turner has been out since New Year’s Day with a hamstring problem.
Norwich Under-21s coach Mark Robson told the club’s official website: “We were able to get Michael and Jonas out there for a half.
“It was good that they were able to get some time on the pitch under their belt.
“The fact that they’re on their way back meant they were feeling their way into it.
“Hopefully, they’re not going to be too far away from selection for the first-team.”
