PAPISS Demba Cisse has been left out of Newcastle United’s squad for the club’s pre-season tour of Portugal
The striker is unwilling to wear a Wonga-branded jersey on religious grounds.
And talks between Cisse, a devout Muslim, and the club have failed to resolve the issue in time for him to board Newcastle’s afternoon flight to Portugal, where United will play two friendlies.
Cisse, who reported back for pre-season training late last week, has offered to wear an unbranded shirt, or one bearing the logo of a charity.
