Peter Beardsley glad to have Ryan Taylor working with Newcastle Utd’s U21s

POSITIVE INFLUENCE ... Newcastle's Ryan Taylor.
POSITIVE INFLUENCE ... Newcastle's Ryan Taylor.

RYAN Taylor is working with Newcastle United’s Under-21s – and coach Peter Beardsley says it’s a “pleasure” to have him involved.

Taylor has been unavailable since August 2012, with two cruciate knee ligament injuries sidelining him.

And the 29-year-old, hopeful of being fit by the start of next season, travelled with Newcastle’s Under-21s squad for their 2-1 loss at Blackburn on Monday.

Taylor was passing on his knowledge to the youngsters, and football development manager Beardsley expects him to be involved with the squad on a regular basis.

Beardsley told nufcTV: “Ryan has taken a real interest in the reserves, and obviously he is injured at the moment.

“I would think you would probably see him more and more. He loves it. He’s a big help to us because he plays the game, and he can give the kids his knowledge.

“He has got a brilliant attitude, as we all know, so it’s a pleasure for us to have him with us.”
