Remie Streete has signed for Port Vale after leaving Newcastle United.
The defender – who had a brief loan spell at the League One club last season – has agreed a two-year deal at Vale Park.
Streete, from South Shields, was Vale manager Rob Page’s top summer target.
“We’re really pleased to have signed up Remie,” said Page.
“He’s a very good player with a lot of potential – something we saw when he was last with us.
“Remie is now part of the bright future we are building at this football club.
“We were very impressed when he was last with us and we made him one of our top summer targets so to have him in the building is brilliant.”
Streete spend the second half of last season on loan at Scottish Championship side Rangers.
However, the 20-year-old was sidelined by injury for much of his time at Ibrox.
