TIM Krul is out of this afternoon’s game against West Ham United – but Cheik Tiote will make his comeback at Upton Park.

Newcastle United goalkeeper Krul is not available because of a knock suffered in training on Thursday.

And Rob Elliot will make his first Premier League appearance of the season in the fixture (3pm kick-off).

Tiote, meanwhile, makes his first appearance since early last month.

The midfielder – who will wear the captain’s armband – replaces the injured Ryan Taylor in Alan Pardew’s starting XI.

And Yoan Gouffran comes in for Remy Cabella, among the substitutes, in a third change.

Meanwhile, West Ham striker Andy Carroll – in Sam Allardyce’s starting XI – says he knew his former club would turn a corner this season – because of his mates!

Carroll said: “They’ve got a great team.

“At the start of the season, they had a lot of players coming in and some teams don’t start straight away, and I think that was the case with them,” said Carroll.

“All my mates kept saying ‘we’ll be all right, look at the players we’ve got’, and that’s exactly the case.

“Some of the fans have stuck by them, and it proves they were right to do so.”

Ex-Newcastle midfielder Kevin Nolan is on the West Ham bench.
