The striker scored once in six appearances for the National League South side and returns to Pools who have been short of bodies up front in recent weeks.

Luke James’ injury and Gime Toure’s suspension left Dave Challinor with Nicke Kabamba as his only senior striking option. The signing of Aidan Keena on Friday boosted Pools’ frontline with Muir now coming back into the fold.

Challinor suggested the player could be leaving Pools permanently this month, though that currently looks unlikely.

“Neeks is back with us this week,” Challinor revealed.

“We need bodies at the moment so I don’t envisage anyone going out.

“Again whether that changes and we can bring someone in or someone becomes available then we’ll see where we’re at. At the moment, he is back with us and it’s a good chance for him to make an impact.”
