Hartlepool United picked up their biggest win of the season as they brushed aside Chesterfield with a 5-1 victory at the Proact Stadium on Tuesday night.

Braces from Gus Mafuta and Gime Toure on his return to the starting line-up as well as a clinical finish from Luke James saw Dave Challinor pick up his first National League victory as Pools boss in emphatic fashion.

The win extends Challinor’s unbeaten start to four matches with two wins, two draws and 13 goals scored as United moved into the top 10 in the table.
