Story of the day: Hartlepool United 2-0 Stockport County – home debut goal for Aidan Keena as Pools make it eight points from 12
Hartlepool United stretched their National League unbeaten run to four matches as they beat Stockport County 2-0 at Victoria Park.
A home debut goal for Aidan Keena and a second from midfielder Mark Shelton proved to be the difference as Pools made it eight points out of a possible 12 since their New Year’s Day defeat to Harrogate Town.
It’s also the first time Dave Challinor’s side have kept a clean sheet since before Christmas as they moved to within three points of the final play-off place.
