Matthew Worthington put the home side ahead before Peter Kioso nodded Hartlepool level minutes later from a Ryan Donaldson cross. A failure to deal with a long throw into the box saw Yeovil go back in front as Charlie Lee made it 2-1 just before half-time.

Yeovil top scorer Rhys Murphy was shown a straight red card shortly after the restart as Pools started to apply the pressure in search of an equaliser.
