FORMER Sunderland managers Peter Reid and Mick McCarthy plan to be in the opposition dugouts for ex-Black Cat Jody Craddock’s fund-raising testimonial which has been confirmed for Molineux on Monday, May 5.

The event will see most of Sunderland’s most successful team of the modern era reunited, including the iconic partnership of Niall Quinn and Kevin Phillips.

Many others of the side which took Sunderland to a famous play-off final, a 105-point promotion and two seventh place Premier League finishes will also be involved.

Also pencilled in to play are Mickey Gray, Alex Rae, Thomas Sorensen, Allan Johnston, Kevin Kilbane and Thomas Myhre.

Former Sunderland boss Mick McCarthy, who was manager of Wolves for six years, will take charge of a home side of former and current players.

The game is set to take place on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5 with kick-off at 2pm.

Proceeds going to Birmingham Children’s Hospital where Jody’s young son four-year-old son Toby is continuing to be treated for leukaemia since being diagnosed two years ago.

SportMail revealed that Craddock was hoping to put together the showpiece game when he visited Sunderland recently on a fund-raising evening.

The date could only be rubber-stamped once Wolves had a clear picture of whether or not they would be involved in the play-offs, and with the West Midlanders now all but assured of automatic promotion, the testimonial date has been officially confirmed.

Jody commented: “I have been speaking to my former managers and team-mates from both Wolves and Sunderland and am really pleased that pretty much all of them are planning to make the game, as long as club commitments allow.

“Everyone knows how much I enjoyed my time at both Wolves and Sunderland, particularly the two promotions, and the admiration and respect I will always have for both sets of supporters.

“Hopefully this game will provide a great showpiece event to the testimonial and will prove both a fun and exciting afternoon for everyone who comes along.”

Tickets for the game, on sale now, are priced at just £10 for adults, £5 for under 17s and over 65s or special family tickets priced at £20 (two adults, two children).

Tickets are available via and can be printed at home.
