ASAMOAH Gyan hopes to be lining up alongside new signing Sulley Muntari in Saturday’s’s Premier League trip to Stoke City because he’s convinced his Ghana team-mate will help increase his Sunderland strike rate.
Gyan welcomed Muntari on loan from Inter Milan last weekend and is relishing a first appearance together for the Black Cats.
The £13million striker said: “I’m very happy that Sulley is here. I’ve played with him for Ghana and at Udinese, so I’ve known him for a long time.
“He’s a good friend of mine and when I look back at the goals I have scored for the national team, Sulley has had a big influence on most of them, providing assists.
“Hopefully he will help me score more goals here at Sunderland now.
