Imminent Sunderland signing Jan Kirchhoff says he has rejected offers from three Bundesliga sides to move to the Stadium of Light.
Kirchhoff is expected to be unveiled by Sunderland today after flying to the North East yesterday to undergo a medical and discuss personal terms with the Black Cats.
Sunderland will sign Kirchhoff in a cut-price £750,000 deal after he had only six months remaining on his contract at Bayern.
But with such a low fee for Kirchhoff - whose time at Bayern has been marred by injury problems - there was plenty of interest in the centre-half, including fellow German sides Eintracht Frankfurt, VfB Stuttgart and FC Augsburg.
"I had several options There were requests from the Bundesliga, but I didn't really consider them or to stay at Bayern," he told German newspaper Kicker.
"I'm looking forward to playing in England and the new challenge."
