JORDAN Henderson says he and his team-mates must pull off back-to-back victories to ensure the feel-good factor returns to Wearside.
The midfielder was as elated as any of his team-mates by Saturday’s win over Bolton Wanderers, so enthusiastically celebrated with the travelling fans at the final whistle.
But he says everyone in the squad was already focused on this weekend’s game as they left the Reebok.
And he insists the players fully appreciate the effect a win over Wolves would have on home fans.
He told the Echo: “We’ve been on a horrible run over the last few months and it has been as hard on the players as it has on the fans.
“But two wins in our last three games has helped a bit and the win over Bolton was a bit special, winning it the way we did with just about the last kick of the game.
“It felt fantastic celebrating afterwards because I really felt we deserved the result on the day.
“But already the lads were talking about the Wolves game because we don’t want the Bolton game just to be a one-off.
“We want to take what we got out of the Bolton game and take it into the Wolves game.
“Two wins out of three has made everyone feel a little bit better but if we make it three out of four then the picture really starts to change again.”
