SUNDERLAND boss Gus Poyet will be on the pundit’s sofa for the World Cup.

Poyet was today announced as part of ITV’s team for their coverage of next month’s tournament, with England facing the Sunderland head coach’s homeland of Uruguay in the group stages of the competition.

The former Brighton boss is no stranger to the television studio after working for the BBC in their coverage of last summer’s Confederations Cup.

Former Sunderland boss Roy Keane, England winger Andros Townsend, ex-England manager Glenn Hoddle and World Cup winners Fabio Cannavaro and Patrick Viera will also be part of ITV’s punditry team.
