SUNDERLAND are unlikely to get any reinforcements from the treatment room for tonight’s game against Wigan Athletic.

Martin O’Neill will do a late check on the walking wounded ahead of this evening’s game at the DW Stadium.

But he admitted that in the wake of the Manchester City game stretching the injury list even further, he did not expect players back just 48 hours after the victory over the Premier League leaders.

The fresh injury from that game was a groin strain to Wes Brown which forced the former Manchester United defender out of the game.

“Wes Brown will be checked over, as will all the other players who are injured, but I don’t expect him to be involved on Tuesday with it being a groin strain,” O’Neill told SportMail.

“As far as the other players are concerned, Phil Bardsley is the only one who might have an outside chance of an involvement against Wigan.”
