SUNDERLAND have completed the signing of Greek winger Charis Mavrias from Panathinaikos.
Mavrias has signed a three year deal on Wearside for an undisclosed fee, thought to be in the region of £2.5million.
The highly-rated 19-year-old, who will wear the number 35 shirt, has made two appearances for the Greek national side after scoring six goals in 70 appearances for Panathinaikos.
The Black Cats had agreed a fee for Mavrias earlier in the summer but pulled out of the move, and then later attempted to push through a loan deal for the youngster before returning to their first offer.
Mavrias, like fellow summer signing David Moberg Karlsson, will provide back up to first choice wingers Adam Johnson and Emanuele Giaccherini.
He is Sunderland’s 11th summer signing and could go straight into the squad for Saturday’s trip to Southampton.
