Leeds United's head of recruitment Martin Glover could be set to rejoin Sam Allardyce at Sunderland.

Black Cats sporting director Lee Congerton was placed on gardening leave in November, with Allardyce overseeing the bulk of Sunderland's January recruitment himself, alongside head of scouting Steve Houston and club secretary Ryan Sachs.

But Glover - who worked alongside Allardyce at former club West Ham - is now a contender to Sunderland's scouting team by joining from Leeds.

Allardyce came into contact with Glover at Blackburn and then took him to West Ham as his head of recruitment.

When Allardyce left Upton Park last summer, Glover headed to Leeds, but his time at Elland Road appears to have lasted just six months, with reports in Yorkshire that he has handed in his resignation.

If appointed, Glover would be the second of Allardyce's former colleagues to join him at Sunderland after performance director Mark Taylor was arrived at the club in October.
