JI-Dong-won got 77 minutes football under his belt as South Korea’s Olympic squad lost their semi-final 3-0 to Brazil last night in front of a full-house at Old Trafford.

The Sunderland striker helped his side make a much better start to the game than the pre-tournament favourites and sent an excellent effort just wide of the target from 25 yards out.

But Brazil gradually found the same rhythm and class which has helped them score three goals in each of their previous four games in London 2012, to emerge as deserved winners.

They will now take on Mexico in the final this weekend at Wembley, hoping to claim the only prize in world sport which has eluded them, while Ji will be part of the South Korean side facing Japan at the Millennium Stadium for the bronze medal.
