Sam Allardyce named an unchanged line-up for the fifth successive game, as Sunderland look to improve their survival hopes at Stoke City.

Allardyce resisted the temptation to make changes to the starting XI at the Britannia Stadium, where a victory would guarantee to keep Sunderland out of the relegation zone for another week.

After three successive four-goal defeats, Stoke boss Mark Hughes made five changes to his side, including a start for rookie keeper Jakob Haugaard.

Stoke: Haugaard, Bardsley, Cameron, Shawcross, Pieters, Whelan, Imbula, Shaqiri, Adam, Arnautovic, Crouch. Subs: Bachmann, Muniesa, Joselu, Diouf, Walters, Wollscheid, Bojan.

Sunderland: Mannone, Yedlin, Kone, Kaboul, van Aanholt, Kirchhoff, Cattermole, M'Vila, Khazri, Borini, Defoe. Subs: Pickford, O'Shea, Jones, Watmore, N'Doye, Rodwell, Larsson.
