Sunderland and Newcastle linked with wingers as Spurs rival Chelsea for £25m Villa striker Benteke

CHELSEA are set to battle it out with Tottenham for the services of striker Christian Benteke, after the 22-year-old handed in a transfer request at Aston Villa.

The Villa Park club have slapped a £25m price tag on the 22-year-old Congo-born Belgian international, who scored 19 Premier League goals last season.

Benteke is said to favour a move to Spurs, but Villa feel they would get better value for the player if he was sold to Chelsea, according to the Daily Mail
