It’s safe to say that Hartlepool United fans won’t forget June 20, 2021 in a hurry as their team scored promotion back to the EFL after four seasons in the National League.

It was a tense penalty shoot-out against Torquay United at Bristol’s Ashton Gate Stadium but it ended in absolute elation for Dave Challinor’s side and fans both home and away.

As Poolies painted Bristol blue and white and toasted the victory back home, many of you took to social media to celebrate the lads’ success.

It was a day for the club’s history book and a Father’s Day to remember for years to come – but there’s not too much time to rest with the League Two season kicking off on Saturday, August 7.
