SEATON Carew and Hartlepool will not be represented at the Brabazon Trophy finals next month.
Four local golfers were in the 125-man field at Ringway yesterday for the northern qualifier, chasing just 30 spots for the tournament proper at Seaton Carew from June 25-28.
But the quartet all finished outside the qualification zone.
Seaton’s Hughie Hamilton was one shot outside after shooting a 72 at the Cheshire course to finish in a share of 45th place.
Hendry, his Seaton Carew colleague, was next best with a 75, one stroke better off than Hartlepool’s Lloyd Bond. His team-mate, Jamie Austwicke, carded an 82.
Tom Gandy, from Rowany Golf Club, was untouchable yesterday with a 64 to win the Ringway event, finishing two shots in front of North-East golfer, Thomas Rowland, from Prudhoe.
Shipley’s William Whiteoak was third after a 66, with Lancashire star Daniel Wasteney (Lindrick) in fourth following a 67.
