THE Celtic flag was flying high at the Brabazon Trophy at Seaton Carew today.
Scottish golfer Scott Gibson, the first player out on the course this morning at 7am, shot a 69 at the famous links.
That gave him a halfway total of 141 (five under par) to become the clubhouse leader.
And Gibson was soon joined at the summit by Ireland’s Paul McBride.
The Island Golf Club star, who teed off at 720am, signed for a 70 (three under par) to be on 141.
Joint overnight leader Tom Fox fared less well today.
The Cornish golfer shot a one-over-par 74 to drop from five under to four under.
Fox had local knowledge on his bag - his caddie was Seaton Carew member and former Hartlepool United star Barry Parkes.
