WEST Hartlepool are up and running in National Three North – and they are already looking to conquer a new challenge.
West extended their winning run at Brinkburn to 14 league matches when they edged out Rossendale on Saturday.
It was a close call, the Foreman brothers taking them to victory with all 18 home points.
Now they head to Manchester on Saturday aiming to get their first away win at unbeaten league new boys Burnage on their artificial grass pitch.
“We’re training at Dyke House School tomorrow night on their new 3G pitch and that’s the exact same surface we’ll be playing on at Burnage,” said head coach Tim Sawyer.
“That will give us some idea what to expect on Saturday.
“We’ve got to be confident – we’ve had a win against Rossendale and we’ve got two training sessions this week to work on the new patterns we’re trying to implement.
“It’s going to be interesting but we’re going to give it a go.”
