Ella Jackson, the daughter of the Seaton Golf Club professional Cliff, has recently been recognised through her golfing talent by none other than Hartlepool’s Mayor, Councillor Paul Beck.

Following a visit to Ella’s school, English Martyrs, Ella was drawn to Cllr Beck’s attention by Paul Dixon the deputy headmaster along with other pupils who have excelled in their endeavours.

Ella has been awarded her county golf colours for under 18 year old golfers by Durham after a great season where her six appearances for the county produced six clear wins.

Cllr Beck wanted to show his acknowledgement of Ella’s achievement and invited Ella and her parents Cliff and Amanda, along to his chambers for tea.

Cliff said, “It was totally out of the blue and a great honour for us to be invited to spend time with the Mayor.

“We are really proud of Ella and she was thrilled to have been asked along.”

Cllr Beck is a firm supporter of young talent and feels we should do all we can to recognise and develop our young achievers in the town. Paul Dixon was delighted by the Mayor’s visit and proud parents Cliff and Amanda are grateful to Martyrs School and to Cllr Beck.
