Coach Paul Ryder said: “The cost of taking a team of 22 players to Dubai was frightening at just over £20,000.

“This month, we hit the target and have paid for all 22 players to travel.

“As well as the rugby games, we have planned trips to the waterpark, a desert safari and a tour to the top of the Burj Khalifa.

“The trip is no doubt a once in a lifetime tour that will create memories and friendships for the team that will last a lifetime.”

Paul thanked all the players, parents and coaching staff for their fundraising efforts and their sponsor, Titan Heavy Haulage.

He added: “Titan Heavy Haulage has joined us as the main sponsor and Chris Taylor, the owner of Titan, has paid for all the kit.

“We have had a year of fundraising with the intention of the club paying for every player to go at no cost to their family. We have had fundraising events throughout the year, car boot sales, bag packs in Tesco and Morrisons, raffle prize draws and numerous other events.”

New players are always welcome to join the team at Mayfield Park in Easington Road on Wednesdays at 6pm.
