A DANCE school is working through a packed schedule which includes shows, competitions and supporting charities.
JLM Dance, which is run by Jemma Mudd, has supported the British Heart Foundation.
It backed the cause by holding a Wear It Red Day, and Jemma said: “We had a really successful day, raising more than £100 which I was delighted with considering we are a relatively small school.”
Highlights of the day, said Jemma, included “talking about keeping a healthy heart and being fit with our dancing and extra activity, as well as eating a balanced diet.”
Jemma added: “We are hoping to continue to raise money throughout the year for other charities as we feel this is a great way to keep our community aware of the needs of others around us.
“Whatever amount of money is made will make a big difference to people’s lives.”
JLM students will head to Whitby for a competition on March 22.
Students from JLM will also be supporting the Hartlepool’s Alzheimer’s charity event in April at the Golden Lion.
Jemma said: “This is a fabulous cause which JLM are thrilled to be part of and help towards raising awareness and funds. Some of our students will perform a short show to entertain the guests during the evening.”
