TALENTED teenage dancer Demmileigh Foster has won numerous titles in her lifetime.

But now she is in the running for an award much closer to home.

The 17-year-old who has practised at Nadine’s Academy of Dance for the past 12 years is now nominated for a Pride of Hartlepool award.

And the nomination came from the dance school owner Nadine Kennedy who said: “I believe the world is her oyster and what a better way to start than being awarded Hartlepool’s Performer of the Year title.”

Demmileigh’s successes have included being crowned British Tap Champion, British Song and dance champion and All England Modern champion and Miss Dance UK finalist, said Nadine.

She added: “She has also just won a Teesside sports achievement award for her dancing and been nominated for a Le Classique de Danse award with the ceremony is the end of this month in Southport.”

Demmileigh has also just auditioned to attend the prestigious Urdang college in London and been awarded a place.

Nadine added: “Through all this she has continued to remain humble and very grounded and an absolute credit.”

Demmileigh’s proud mum Elizabeth Foster, who also has four other children and is married to Dean Foster, 37, said: “I am so proud of her. We all are.”

Elizabeth, who is also mum to Nadine Cameron, 22, Dale Foster, 18, Olivia Foster, 12, and Summer Foster, 11, added: “We think Demmileigh is amazing.”
