Hartlepool cheerleaders come second in national contest

A team of cheerleaders did Hartlepool proud when they came second in a national championships.

The Hartlepool Hawks fab five youth stunt group level 3 team - consisting of Amy Snowdon and Connor Moran, both 12, Leah Wintersgill, 11, Alex Welsh, 10, and Hollie Mudd nine - competed in the Legacy Championship called Stand Strong.

The event was held in London at the The Copper Box Arena, in the Olympic Park, and pitched the Hawks against teams from across the UK.

Hawks founder Rebecca Taylor said the students trained very hard for this prestigious event and added: “Our team who went to the Legacy Nationals at the Olympic Park came away with second place.”

Congratulations go to the team which is just one of a number of success stories from the Hawks camp.

Forty five cheerleaders qualified to compete in the British National Championships which were held in Telford.

Another group of students qualified for The European Summit, which were being held at the Worcester Arena, in Worcester this weekend.
