RISING talent Lilly Cadwallender is a champion performer and her mum could not be more proud.

Nine-year-old Lilly has only been going to the Val Armstrong School of Performing Arts in Hartlepool for ten months but she has already enjoyed a string of successes.

In April, she was runner--up in the Northern Counties Dance Teachers’ Association infant song and dance championships. Then in June, she was sixth in the northern stage infant modern championships.

Mum Gill Cadwallender said: “She has achieved so much.”

But further successes were still to come.

Gill added: “In July, we went to Blackpool for the British Championships and Lilly got into three finals which were song and dance, tap, and ballet.”

Then in September, Lilly was crowned the Redcar & Cleveland Juvenile Ballet Champion. She is a student of Clavering Primary school and has just enjoyed her ninth birthday. She lives with her parents Gill and Lee and her older sister Hollie, 14, who attends the Italia Conti theatre arts school in London.

Lilly has been dancing since she was two and joined the Val Armstrong School of Performing Arts, which is in Whitby Street South in Hartlepool, in December last year.

Gill added: “This is the first time Lilly has ever done championships, so we are very proud of what she has achieved in a very short time.

“She dances five times a week, but when she has competitions or championships, then she goes up to seven times a week. She works very hard and has come on so much. The difference is just unbelievable, and Lilly loves being apart of the Val Armstrong team.”

Val said: “Lilly is relatively new to us and in such a short space of time she has really proved herself as a gifted young dancer, singer. model and actress. She has a promising future ahead and she is a pleasure to teach.”
