Britain’s Got Talent star Danny Posthill is set to return to his roots as he plays a homecoming gig.
The impressionist, who finished seventh in the ITV contest earlier this year, grew up in the Rift House and Fens areas of the town.
He now spends his time travelling around the country playing concerts, but will return to Hartlepool on Saturday, October 17, for a show at Owton Manor Social Club, on Wynyard Road.
The event is already heading for a sell-out, with Danny to be supported by popular soul singer Joe Harriott.
Paul Wanley, a director of the club, said: “I was watching Britain’s Got Talent at home with my wife, and I saw Danny on that.
“I thought he was absolutely fantastic, but didn’t know he was from Hartlepool.
“I went straight online and realised he was from Hartlepool, so I sent an email to his agent, and we got the show set up.
“We’re really excited to have him on.
“He couldn’t make it to our Christmas party, but I picked a date, he said no problem and within 20 minutes of confirming the booking, he put it on Facebook.
“It’s going to be a fantastic show, with soul singer Joe Harriott performing as well, and will be one of the biggest nights of the year for us.”
Already, 150 tickets have been snapped up for the show, with about 110 remaining.
Mr Wanley added: “We expect it to be a sell-out. We have been inundated with calls from people wanting tickets.”
The bar will open at 7pm, and tickets cost £10. To book, call 01429 281399.
