DESPITE their name, Stornoway hail from Oxford, rather than the Hebridean town, and this is their third album of indie-folk.
Initially available via PledgeMusic, it’s now been given a full release.
Their jaunty folk has been given a pop sheen by producer Gil Norton (Pixies, Foo Fighters), and the strength of their songs shines through.
In an album packed with sunny melodies, the standouts are opener Between The Saltmarsh And The Sea, the soaring Lost Youth and the wonderfully upbeat When You’re Feeling Gentle.
This is their best album so far. 8/10. GW
