A FAMILY-FRIENDLY music, dance and arts festival is to be held in a countryside park later this month.

Galtres Parklands Festival returns to Duncombe Park, Helmsley to mark its 10th birthday in style, with performances from major artists including Levellers, The Human League, Tricky, Morcheeba, Bellowhead and Public Service Broadcasting.

People from Hartlepool and across the region are expected to snap up tickets and head for the annual event held between Friday, August 22 and Sunday, August 24.

Alongside sets from a stylistically diverse array of well over 100 live music acts, the festival will also feature a full programme of comedy, dance, theatre and seaside-themed family entertainment.

A wide range of caterers will provide dining options using locally sourced ingredients, and over 100 locally brewed beers and ciders will be available on the festival bars.

With beautiful campsites, live entertainment and a family-friendly atmosphere, Galtres Parklands Festival 2014 looks set to be something special.

A spokesman for the festival said: “Now 10 years old, Galtres Parklands Festival is one of the best family festivals in the country, combining eight stages of music and cabaret, more than 100 fine beers and ciders all from Yorkshire, excellent local produce catering, loads for kids to do from film-making to music workshops and all set in a beautiful and spectacular rural setting overlooking the North York Moors.”
