British rap megastars Wretch 32 and Bugzy Malone sent an already lively crowd at the 02 Academy into a frenzy last night.

Footballer and MTV star DJ Ashley Cain set the tempo for the evening with an excellent mix of dance tracks to get the party started.

BBC Radio 1’s Hot For 2016 artist, Bugzy Malone followed and received a fantastic reception from the crowd.

He got the crowd going with his big stage presence, but really got them rocking to his biggest hits from the album Walk With Me.

Manchester-based MC Bugzy Malone simply exploded onto the stage, sparking a series of mosh pits as the crowd went wild, taking a particular liking to the track M.E.N. arguably the best song from the Walk With Me album.

By the time Wretch 32 hit the stage the party was in full swing. Bugzy had set the bar high (he’s a tough act to follow), but Wretch handled it with ease and instantly owned the stage.

His clever mix of Grime and Hip Hop made him a mainstream success in 2011 with the album Black and White.

At the show last night he showcased his love for British Grime. He even performed his Fire in the Booth freestyle rap, which racked up more than two million views on YouTube. Performed live, it was spectacular.

Wretch performed a great balancing act with his choice of tracks with the crowd singing along to Traktor and Unorthodox, mixed with some slower numbers such as the brilliant 6 Words.

A good raucous night was had by all. Same again next year Wretch?
