ALADDIN: THE FORUM THEATRE, BILLINGHAM.

WAS Aladdin great fun for all the family packed with all the magic of panto? Oh yes it was.

My sister and I took our three children, Jacob, Joshua and Harry (aged between five and seven-years-old) to see the pantomime Aladdin at Billingham’s Forum Theatre, off The Causeway.

And it was great.

Everything from the cast, costumes and on-stage scenery were just excellent, and everyone from grannies, mums and kids were hooked.

The show kicked off with the two panto police officers running through the crowd squirting water pistols at the audience, before the classic, much-loved tale of Aladdin began.

Enthusiastic actor Brenna Reece makes a good Aladdin, while professional performer Natalie Pilkington was a gorgeous Princess Jasmine - with a show-stopping singing voice to boot.

Another stand-out performer was TV Benidorm star Jake Canuso as Abanazer, and Craig Ansell was a humourous Widow Twankey.

But the star of the show for my family was veteran entertainer Barnaby who had the audience in stitches with his witty jokes and cheeky face.

The show runs until January 4 with prices from £14 to £17.50. Telephone the box office on (01642) 552663.
