Monty Python meets Fawlty Towers in this ridiculously funny physical comedy romp.

Peter Pan Goes Wrong has a wonderfully unique concept that absolutely tickled me pink.

It sees the Cornley Polytechinc Drama Society stage its production of Peter Pan, and as the title suggests, anything and everything that can go wrong does.

The actors forget or stutter through their lines, the set falls apart and spins uncontrollably and the production is hilariously hopeless.

And of course, with it being Peter Pan, there are some side-splitting flying mishaps.

Before the curtain had even gone up, the audience was immersed in the comedy as cast members rummaged through the stalls looking for a missing hammer and the director Chris Bean (Laurence Pears) visited the upper levels to wish everyone a good time.

The play within a play pokes fun at amateur theatre in a farcical and entertaining way.

I’d seen The Play That Goes Wrong on the West End, so I knew what to expect, but this show made me laugh more than I could have ever anticipated.

The over-acting, dodgy special effects, lighting and sound problems, and riotous tomfoolery had me cackling wildly.

The mechanics of the show are unbelievably impressive. The way the set is designed to fall apart and the perfect timing of trips, slips and accidents is impeccable.

Every moment in the play is designed faultlessly to deliver incredibly-funny feats.

The show has the slapstick silliness of Monty Python and the hysterical physical comedy of Fawlty Towers – it was right up my street.

I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever laughed so much in my life.
