A POPULAR children’s book character leaped off the pages when she visited a local library as part of a tour.
The Worst Princess entertain youngsters and their families when she came to Peterlee Library.
A theatre production of the popular children’s book is touring the region’s libraries as part of Durham Book Festival.
The performance gave young bookworms the chance to find out how a feisty princess defies expectations in a funny twist on the traditional fairy tale.
Children were enthralled by the show which featured puppets, and live music.
And there was lots of opportunities to sing along during the show.
The production was aimed at children aged seven and under and their families.
The star role of the Worst Princess was played by Rachel Gay.
The adaptation of the acclaimed book was commissioned by New Writing North in association with the Sage Gateshead.
