Final few places for Great North Run available with Hartlepool's Alice House Hospice
Alice House Hospice is urging supporters wishing to run in this year’s Great North Run in aid of the charity to get in touch soon.
Hartlepool’s much-loved hospice has secured some extra places for the world famous half marathon but there are only a handful left.
The event typically raises around £30,000 for the hospice each year.
It is set to take place on Sunday, September 12, after Covid-19 forced the cancellation of the Great North Run’s 40th anniversary last year.
Hospice fundraiser Nicola Winwood said: “We are overwhelmed with the response from our supporters who are wanting to take on this challenge and raise a much-needed funds for the hospice.
"Due to this, we have been able to secure some extra places to help boost our income.”
Remaining places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.
Runners are being asked to raise at least £350 in sponsorship.
