Retailer Lidl has recalled packs of chapattis, as a labeling error means they pose a potential allergy risk.

The Vitasia 8 Chapattis contain wheat (gluten) which is not mentioned in English on the label. This makes the product a possible health risk to anyone with an allergy to wheat or an intolerance to gluten.

The recall affects all 360g packs with a 'Best before' date of 4 August 2016

No other Lidl products are known to be affected.

The company has asked anyone with a gluten intolerance to return the product to their nearest Lidl store for a full refund.

In a statement, the company added: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to wheat or an intolerance to gluten, do not eat it.”
