Hartlepool United confirm payment of overdue HMRC bill
Pools were issued with a winding up order petition on February 1 for the outstanding bill.
But the club have now confirmed that the process to end those proceedings are underway after Pools fan Rachel Cartwright, who spearheaded a Just Giving fundraiser, squared the bill with the cash raised by fans from across the land.

Hide AdThey were due to be in court for the hearing on March 21. That will now not take place.

Hide AdA statement on the club's website read: "Further to the statement issued yesterday we would like to provide the following update.
"We can confirm that Rachel Cartwright, who set up the Just Giving fundraising page for the club, has now paid the outstanding HMRC debt.
"HMRC have confirmed that they will cancel the serving of the winding up petition and the process to withdraw the winding up order is underway.
"Once again we would like to thank Rachel and all of the fans and community for their generosity of spirit, time and money to support the club."

Hide AdWhile this bill has now been put to bed Pools remain in deep water, given that they must pay their staff and players within the next two weeks.
Pools scraped through the month of January but, having exhausted many of there revenue streams they may find it tough to raise the cash to fulfill their responsibilities this month.
