The former England, Newcastle United, Tottenham Hotspur and Rangers midfielder will appear at a venue which is yet to be confirmed.

‘Gazza’ has battled alcoholism publically over recent years, and was pictured in national newspapers earlier this month after suffering a relapse.

However, promoter Nathan Greathead, who is organising the evening in Hartlepool, insists Paul is now “doing brilliantly”.

The show will be held on Friday, November 18, with a time and venue to be confirmed in due course.

Nathan said: “I have bonded really well with Paul, and it’s always nice to see him happy and smiling.

“Terry and Freda Baker (his agents) do a fantastic job looking after him and with everything they do for him.

“I think the press need to leave off him and think of the good things he did for the national football team, rather than when he is going through bad times when he needs the support the most.

“The people who know Paul will always support him 110%, no matter what.

“He is doing brilliantly at the moment and let’s hope it stays that way. He’s getting the right support.”

Tickets are set to cost from £85 for a meal and priority seating, with VIP packages also to be available for companies.

They will be available from next week by calling 01429 279631 or online at www.nsgpromotions.co.uk or by messaging NSG Promotions on Facebook.

It is part of a tour Nathan has organised with Paul, which will also see him hold an event at Newcastle’s St James’s Park and one in Darlington.

Nathan added: “There will be a limited number of tickets released, so it’s more a private function and everyone gets a chance to see him close up.

“I’m really excited to be holding my first full tour, and to take Paul back to St James’s Park infront of 1,000 people is going to be special for myself and (fellow promoter) Steve Wraith, and obviously Paul himself.”
