Hartlepool council elections: Who will get your vote in Burn Valley?

Today we feature the Burn Valley ward and will feature all wards ahead of the election on Thursday, May 5.

Here’s why the candidates think they’re worth your vote:

Andrew Martin-Wells

Dear resident, on May the 5th you have an opportunity to elect a councillor who will truly put your best interests first.

For far too long the Burn Valley Ward has been the poor relation and the time has come to change that.

I pledge to fight for more investment in our wonderful parks and green spaces in our ward.

I promise to follow my Local Conservative councillors in not claiming a single penny in expenses throughout my whole time elected.

With two Labour councillors already representing you in Burn Valley, why not give me your support and allow me to prove I’m worthy of your vote on 5th May.

Dave Hunter

Dear resident, my name is Dave Hunter, and I am delighted to have been chosen to be your 2016 Labour candidate for the Burn Valley Ward.

I am absolutely passionate about making a difference for the ward, and for the great people who live here, and I am also equally passionate about making a difference for the town of Hartlepool as well.

Over the coming months I hope to meet with as many of you as possible in order to get a real feel for what your concerns and issues are, and to understand how I may be able to assist you.

Hartlepool has a shortage of jobs; young people have to seek work outside of the town.

From the 1st April, 2016, Hartlepool’s ruling Labour councillor’s voted to combine local authorities without consulting the Hartlepool residents.
