Pools face Crewe Alexandra on Tuesday night in a fixture crucial to the club’s survival hopes.

And they follow that up on Saturday with a tough contest with League Two promotion favourites Exeter who, ironically they defeated at St James Park earlier in the season.

The Pools owners this week announced a special buy one get one free ticket offer for supporters.

The club said that anyone buying a ticket for the home game with Crewe will gain free entry for the Grecians clash at the Northern Gas & Power Stadium.

Jones was delighted by the atmosphere inside the Vic for last Saturday’s home draw with Plymouth Argyle.

While Pools were pegged back by a stunning late Matty Kennedy equaliser, the fans gave the team a standing ovation at the end.

“These fans like to see everything – good play, goals,” said Jones.

“It’s not all about tackles, if they see commitment, and desire and see the players care then I think the fans will always stay with you.

“They saw commitment, desire, a team that wanted to win, were having a right go. If the fans see that then they will always get behind the side.

“If they don’t see it then they are entitled to have a moan.”

The buy-one-get-one-free offer is available right up to kick off on Tuesday at the Clarence Road ticket office, but the club urge fans to buy early.
