Ronnie Moore suffered another frustrating afternoon after Hartlepool United went down to a 2-0 defeat at Wimbledon.

Pools were pretty much second best in every area, with the exception of keeper Trevor Carson who made five good saves.

Moore’s side were sunk by two first-half goals from Callum Kennedy (18) and Lyle Taylor (28).

It was a frustrating start and there was nothing in the game in the first 15 minutes,” said Moore.

“Then once the goal goes in we look like we are going to go down [to defeat].

“We are defending deep, but never passed it, never looked like we are going to score and the hold up play wasn’t good enough.”

Carson was the pick of the Pools side while Matthew Bates, in at centre-half for trhe suspended Scott Harrison, and sub Scott Fenwick earned praise from Moore.

“Batesy was a leader out there,” he said. “He was outstanding and lost a tooth from an elbow.

“I was pleased with Scotty when he came on, he hold the ball up well.”
