Ex-Hartlepool United defender Michael Nelson makes surprise return to football
Former Hartlepool United defender Michael Nelson has made a surprise return to football – having penned a short-term deal with Blyth Spartans.
Nelson announced his intention to retire from the game when he took up a coaching position at Stevenage earlier this season but, having since left the League Two outfit, has now teamed-up with the National League North side.
The defender has agreed a deal until the end of the current season, as Blyth look to stave off relegation.
