Neil Warnock has made two changes to his Middlesbrough side for today’s meeting with Watford – and fans have been quick to react on social media.

Boro were beaten 3-1 at Bournemouth last time out – a result which saw them drop seven points off a play-off spot.

Warnock has recalled Djed Spence and George Saville to his starting XI while Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Yannick Bolasie have dropped to the bench.

Here’s how some supporters reacted to the team news on social media:

@jakemmfc: As I expected really, I thought it was a bit of an odd comment when Warnock said he would try to keep the score down on Monday, very defensive team! I imagine even Watmore and Kebano will be playing quite deep.

@jimmylees: Not feeling this lineup today. Prove me wrong lads

@studdy2k: Surely Johnson should be getting the nod ahead of Spence

@Ben_Simpson0: Hope Coburn gets a chance

@Geoffre77831787: We need to experiment with players and positions now ready for next season so it's good to see something different. You never know....

@HarryPattison3: Love Warnock, but I think he might like Spence a bit too much

@reecewalker30: Watmore up top by himself again

@MercilessMendez: Should be Djed’s last chance today if he’s poor get him out on loan or sell. I feel like he needs to go to League Two or something for a bit of humbling tbh

@DavidKingy1982: Hopefully Spence plays well on Sky today. Might get a few quid for him in the summer then, if not he will be released soon enough
