The Newcastle United winger had been due to return from a hamstring injury last month.
But Aarons has “tweaked his thigh”, according to head coach John Carver.

Asked when Aarons would be fit to return, Carver said: “A week to 10 days.
“We are being careful with him. He has a hamstring issue and tweaked his thigh.”
Meanwhile, the knee injury which forced Massadio Haidara off in Saturday’s 1-0 home win over Aston Villa was today being assessed by the club’s medical team.

Carver, however, is hopeful that the defender will be fit to face Manchester United at St James’s Park on Wednesday night.
“It’s his knee,” said Carver.
“He’s got an ongoing issue with it, but it’s not too serious, so we will see what he’s like.
“Hopefully, he should be available for Wednesday.”
