Hartlepool's Alice House Hospice to reopen charity shop - but for donations only - as it gears up for new normal

Alice House Hospice has announced plans for the first reopening of one of its flagship charity shops for the first time since the lockdown.

The hospice was forced to temporarily close all of its shops in Hartlepool and East Durham that raise £700,000 a year, in late March.

Alice House has now announced its shop in Raby Road, Hartlepool, will reopen from Monday, June 8.

But it will only be for people to leave donations by appointment.

The shop is due to be open from 9am to 3pm Monday to Friday and people will be allocated 20-minute slots.

Those registered for Gift Aid will be given priority access to appointments and phone lines will open for bookings on Thursday, June 4.

The hospice said: “Please do not turn up at the shop without making an appointment.”
