These are the essential shops still open at Hartlepool's Middleon Grange shopping centre during the third national lockdown

Middleton Grange shopping centre in Hartlepool has released a list of all the shops that are still open or trading under the third national lockdown.

In line with Government rules, non-essential stores such as clothes and sports shops, are not open while food and drink outlets such as McDonalds and Costa are running takeaway services only.

In total, some 25 businesses are still operating plus a further seven stalls in the indoor market.

The full list of shops and businesses still open in the centre from Tuesday, January 5, are: B&M, Boots, Boots Opticians, CEX (drop and go for selling items only) Cooplands, Costa (takeaway only) First Class, Greggs, Halifax, Healthways Chemist, Heron Foods, Holland & Barrett, Home Bargains, Iceland, McDonald’s (takeaway only) Post Office, Poundland ,Savers, Scrivens, Specsavers, Subway (takeaway only) Supernews, Vodafone (click-and-collect only) WHSmith and Wilko.

Also open in the market hall are: Ayres butchers, Blyths butchers, Fords Fruit & Veg (GJW), S&L News, Ryan Fruit & Veg, Sandwich Express and Special Occasions.

Middleton Grange advises customers to contact individual stores directly before making a visit as trading hours may vary.

The centre’s Lower West mall toilets are available and all all council car parks are open with charges in place.

The multi-storey car park remains closed.
