Dalton Park reopens after power cut forces all-day closure

Dalton Park has reopened after a power cut forced it to close for a day.

The Murton shopping centre said yesterday morning, Saturday July 18, that there was a problem but management were hoping to be able to open soon.

But they confirmed later that work to fix the fault was still going on and the centre would remain closed for the rest of the day.

A statement on the centre’s Facebook page today said: “We are pleased to confirm that Dalton Park will re-open this morning at 10am as power has been restored.

“The power cut on Saturday was caused by a fault which originates in the supply distribution network outside of our property and is managed by Northern Power Grid.

"Their engineers were in attendance all day and continue to work on the cause of the fault.

“We would like to thank you for your patience and apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused.”
